Global Game Jam 2018 - Design

Let's dance to joy transmission and celebrate the murder spree, all the vamps are burning hot and we're so happy. Pick your DJ and take a ride in the Enigma Engine, hunting for a sweet mausoleum to play Joy Division's hit new song - Transmission (what? It's the 80's, after all) - and help some decade-themed gothic vampires get their groove on. SIKE! Being a DJ is just a front. Did you really think putting down a record and clicking some buttons made you a DJ? Sit down, you suck. It's all a cover for your vampire hunter business. Entrance the vamps with the sweet, sweet sounds of Joy Division to distract them until morning. Succeed, and the disco ball will drop it like it's hot - REAL hot - blasting sun from the skylights across the crowd and burning them where they stand. Let's get this party lit. (Including references to; Joy Division, The Wombats, Scooby Doo, Blade, Iron Man, Hotline Miami, Dead or Alive (band) & V-Moda. Can you find them all?)

Our team made use of the Unity Engine for this particular project.

My key role in the team was Game Design & Production

  • Developing the initial concept and story for the game
  • Initial concept of Game Mechanics, and refining these mechanics as the game developed 
  • Additional art assets such as the Map page, and animation for the Artists as they had a heavy work load for this project

There is a Cast of 3 playable characters in the game who are loosely based on characters from other popular media, as one of the diversifiers for this years Global Game Jam was to incorporate Easter Eggs into your game.
